The Kindu Trust benefits

The Kindu Trust operates on a small, localised scale, which provides many advantages for our supporters:

• Small scale strength gives us flexibility and the means for our Ethiopian team to have direct contact with the families that you sponsor, and know each family personally.
• Your child sponsorship money directly supports the family of the child you are sponsoring. Or you can contribute to our one-off educational and health-enhancing projects.
• Your money helps a child to climb one step beyond extreme poverty and offers them greater chance of success.
• No big office overheads.  No big management and administration structure.  No waste of your money.
• Your ‘general’, non-child sponsorship donations help us pay for important projects and the low admin, office and salary costs - all workers in the UK are voluntary, but we employ local staff in our Ethiopian office; this has the additional benefit of injecting money into the community.
• We recruit volunteers to assist with administration, so reducing costs.
• Your sponsored family is visited to ensure progress, health and well-being are being maintained, and that the money is not being mis-spent.
• You are supporting an organisation that has a very strong presence in Gondar, a town in northern Ethiopia, and so is able to have an impact in a concentrated area.  We are using our skills and expertise to help in other areas of Ethiopia.
